Changing a Shabbat Timer on Shabbat

Question

Is it permissible to move forward or backward the times of a Shabbat timer for an air conditioner while the air conditioner is not operating?

Answer

Shalom u’vrachah 

It is forbidden for a Jew to do so, and permitted through a non-Jew.
