Use of a CPAP Machine on Shabbat

Question

Is it permitted to use a “CPAP” machine on Shabbat?
The device treats sleep apnea by means of a constant flow of positive air pressure.
There are three types:
With no certification at all — it turns on when the device is placed on the face, and turns off when it is removed from the face.
Tzomet Institute — it operates statically, but there are digital recordings, recording of snoring, and changes in the air pressure through automatic adjustment according to the breathing.
Mishmeret HaShabbat — it operates completely statically.
What is permitted ideally and after the fact, and what is forbidden?

Answer

Shalom u’verachah

Use of the regular device is forbidden.

Use of a device that operates in a completely constant manner is permitted ideally.

A device that has digital recordings should not be used ideally. However, when there is no possibility of using a kosher device, it may be used under these conditions: cover the screen on Shabbat, and do not transfer the recording created on Shabbat to the doctor for purposes of continuing the treatment.
