An order that was placed on the website on Shabbos
Question
Dear Rabbi,
I have an internet store for selling various products. Unfortunately, an order came in on Saturday. What should I do? Should I fulfill the order? Or should I cancel the order and ask the customer to place the order again, pretending there was a problem with her order? Thank you.
Answer
Dear …!
If the website is intended for the Jewish community, it is appropriate to prevent the possibility of ordering on Shabbos.
However, if the order has already been placed, there is no prohibition against fulfilling it.
