Benefit from Tearing Packaging on Shabbat
Question
What is the practical halachah regarding ma'aseh Shabbat that was done unintentionally? For example, if someone opened a snack (a pareve food) on Shabbat and the packaging tore, is it permitted to benefit from it?
Answer
Shalom u'vrachah
It is permitted to eat it. This is not considered benefit from ma'aseh Shabbat. The tearing of the letters is incidental.
