Study without Understanding
Question
Is studying without understanding considered as study, and does it have any merit at all? Is there a difference in this regard between studying the revealed Torah and the hidden Torah, in light of what is known in the name of the Ari, who instructed to study the Zohar even without understanding?

In the revealed Torah - there is no significance in it.
In the Zohar - some say there is significance.
