Genizah of the Name of God

Question

Is it necessary to place the Name of God in genizah if it is written only as ה'?

Answer

One should be stringent, even when only a symbol is written to indicate the intention of the Name of God, such as the letter ה' or יי appearing in siddurim as a sign for the Name of God.

Source

Shulchan Aruch (Yoreh De'ah, Siman 276); Maharsha (Sukkah 53).
