Selling a Filtered Device That I Received

Question

I received a filtered smart device as a gift, and I do not know what level of filtering it has. May I sell it to a cellphone store that sells such devices to the general public, or must I specifically look for a store that sells to non-Jews? In addition to the basic halacha, what is proper and preferable ab initio: to sell the device or to throw it away?

Answer

Hello and blessings

Since the device is filtered, it is permitted to sell it to a Jew, but only if he would in any case buy such a device.
