Obligation of Mezuzah in Doorway Formed by Support Pillar
Question
A support pillar fixed in the middle of a room, with a doorway form created on both sides. Is there a need to affix a mezuzah there?
Answer
Since the pillar is intended for support and not to divide the room into two, it is not considered a doorway form, and there is no need to affix a mezuzah there.
