A Hurtful Request for Forgiveness

Question

I spoke disparagingly about my teacher. I think that if I call her and specify what I said about her in order to ask forgiveness, it may hurt her. In addition, she has been teaching me for less than a month and I do not know her very well. What should I do?

Answer

Shalom u'vrachah

In a case where asking forgiveness will hurt the person who was harmed even more, one should not ask for forgiveness.

One should pray to Hashem that the teacher forgive whoever hurt her.
