Speaking Disparagingly About a Righteous Person

Question

Shalom and blessings.
By mistake, a word slipped out of my mouth that was disparaging
toward a righteous and important person.
It truly pains me deeply.
I would be glad to know what I should do in order to rectify this, and in order to feel at peace with myself that I have done what I can to correct this matter.

Answer

Shalom and blessings.

One should speak with those who heard the words about the virtues of that rabbi, and remove the disparaging words from their hearts.
