Can a Jew work for a company that engages in online gambling and sports betting?
Question
I have been interviewing at a company that is an online gaming company. Part of the business is an online casino and sports betting. The role I am going for is marketing. If I am offered the role, can I accept it?
Answer
Shalom!
Thank you for your question.
Although it is distasteful, it is ultimately permissible to work in the manner you describe. One reason for this is that it is questionable to what extent your role facilitates other people's gambling. So too, if they didn't hire you, they would easily hire someone else.
