Listening to Music Near a Mourner
Question
A family where the mother is in the year of mourning for her mother, and the children want to listen to music. Is it permitted, or should they refrain from listening so that the mother does not hear?
Answer
Others are permitted to play music, and the mother should intend not to derive enjoyment from the music.
