Going on a Family Vacation During the Year of Mourning
Question
May one go on vacation with married children during the year of mourning?
Answer
Shalom rav
Our teacher Rabbi Amram Fried shlita ruled:
During the year of mourning, it is permitted to go on a family vacation with one’s immediate family (sons, daughters, sons-in-law, and daughters-in-law).
However, it is forbidden to go with the extended family (uncles, cousins, and the like).
