Burial of a Miscarriage
Question
A woman who had a miscarriage and the fetus was expelled in a medical facility, or a curettage was performed, should it be requested for burial?
Answer
Before 3 months from the start of pregnancy, there is no obligation for burial. After 3 months, it is usually transferred to the Chevra Kadisha for burial. If it is not transferred, one should demand that they do so, because according to the Magen Avraham, it requires burial.
