Prohibition of Delay in Payment for an Aliyah to the Torah

Question

If someone purchases an aliyah in the synagogue and commits to pay a certain amount, does the prohibition of 'do not delay' apply?

Answer

Only if the gabbai demands, there is a prohibition of delay.
