Obligation of Charity When One Has No Money

Question

Hello, It is known that there is a prohibition against ignoring a poor person who asks for charity. What should a person do if they have no cash on them?

Answer

Shalom,

One who does not have is not obligated to give.

(t’s important to note that the obligation applies only to a poor person who is trustworthy, and not to just anyone who claims to be in need.)
