Can one pay a teacher an additional salary on Purim from maaser funds?

Shalom Rav,
If it is clear that one must give the teacher an additional payment on Purim, it cannot be given from maaser funds.
If it is not a strict obligation according to the custom in that place, and if the teacher or the father is in a difficult situation, it can be given from maaser.
