Item of a Gentile Not Paid For

Shalom Rav. What is the ruling if, after purchasing in a Gentile's store, an item is found in the bag that was not paid for?

This is considered theft from a Gentile and it is forbidden to do so.
There is a dispute among the poskim whether one needs to pay for theft from a Gentile. According to the halacha, there is no need to pay.
