Payment for a Ride That Was Not Paid For

Question

Hello, I have a small debt for three bus rides, and I know which routes I traveled on. I got on the bus and suddenly saw that I did not have enough money / that I did not have a Rav-Kav. There is a website where one can pay a debt for bus rides, but it is not possible to choose a specific route. Is there a problem with this? And in general, what should one do when there is a debt for a bus ride, for example when one did not have a Rav-Kav?

Answer

Hello and blessings,

According to the Ministry of Transportation, there is no obligation to pay for a ride that has already been taken.

Therefore, there are companies that waive the payment, for example: Dan, Egged, and Superbus.

However, there are companies that require payment for rides that were not paid for—for example: Kavim.
