Tickets Found in a Rented Apartment

Question

We have been living in a rented apartment for 3 years, and I have now found 2 tickets at home for entry to some attraction. They were left here by the previous tenants, who bought them about 4–5 years ago (they are still valid). May I use them, since they presumably forgot about them long ago and gave up hope of recovering them, and there is also no doubt that if I ask them they would agree to let us use them, or must I ask their permission?

Answer

Shalom u’vrachah

If it is clear to you that they would permit you, you may take them for yourselves.

[If the tickets are still valid, it is not clear that they forgot about them and gave up hope of recovering them].
