Commemoration of the Destruction in a Rented Apartment

The halacha to leave an area of one amah by one amah unplastered on the wall of a house as a commemoration of the destruction, upon whom does this obligation fall in a rented house, the tenant or the landlord?
Answer
The obligation falls on the tenant, and he should do so only with the landlord's permission.
