Investment in Funds Abroad
Question
Hello,
Is it halachically permissible to buy and directly hold shares of American companies, such as NVIDIA (NVDA), Broadcom (AVGO), AMD, and Intuit (INTU)?
Additionally, is there a halachic difference between investing directly in shares of a company abroad and investing through an index fund or ETF?
Thank you very much.

Answer
Hello and blessings
Investment in funds abroad is permitted.
Investment through companies owned by Jews sometimes requires a heter iska, and one must examine how the payments to the company itself are defined.
