An Electrician Who Caused Damage
Question
I was doing renovations at home
and part of the renovation was also installing new grounding for the house
The electrician who installed the grounding for me agreed with the neighbor below me that he would do it properly, so that it would not hang down by his window
The agreement was not with me and has nothing to do with me
At the time, the neighbor did not tell me at all that it bothered him
The electrician did not do it
And now the neighbor is demanding that I bring a new electrician and pay him to fix it
Do I have a halachic obligation to do so?

Answer
Shalom u’vrachah
You must ensure that no damage results from the work you commissioned. Therefore, if the electrician is not willing to remove the wire, you must bring another electrician to fix the matter.
