Ribbit (Interest) in Lending an Item; Ribbit in Hosting the Lender
Question
We lent a hot glue gun to a neighbor. The gun was very old and not in such good working order. It broke while in their possession, and they bought us a new one for 35 shekels. Is this ribbit?
I have a friend from the United States who comes several times a year and stays with us each time for about two weeks, free of charge. From time to time he gives us large gifts as a friend, not as payment. Now he has lent us a large sum, and he is concerned that if we host him again, this might constitute ribbit.

Answer
Hello and blessings
1. It is permitted. This is not a loan but rather the lending of an item for use, and there is no prohibition of ribbit in it.
2. Anything that you were accustomed to doing before the loan is permitted after the loan as well.
And if he pays the amount of the expenses for the hosting, it is certainly permitted.
