I Made a Plate Treif at School

I work at a special education school. During work, I accidentally made a meat plastic plate treif and threw it in the garbage. Am I obligated to buy a new plate for the school?

There is no need to pay. 

A. This is damage that is not outwardly discernible, done unintentionally. B. They certainly forgo a loss of this type.
