Damage during Dishwashing

Question

I was washing dishes at the institution where I work, and a lid from a bowl fell on the floor and bent slightly. Do I need to inform them, or can I assume they won't mind?

If it is a small thing that naturally occurs during institutional dishwashing, there is no need to inform them.
