Takanas Ezra

Question

What is the halacha about takanas ezra on Shabbos for someone doesnt always go? i try to keep Takanas ezra, but I don’t always manage. If I don’t manage to go before davening i try to go later the same day, and if thats not possible then the next day, does that count as following the takanah, so it would be permitted for me to immerse even on Shabbos? or maybe since I’m not fulfilling it exactly i shouldn't?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.
A person who is particular to immerse “Tevillas Ezra” regularly, or to the best of their ability even if it doesn't always work out, is permitted to do so on Shabbos, as well.

When immersing on Shabbos one must be careful not to squeeze water out of one’s hair or clothing/bathing suit/towel.
