Children keeping a different level of Kashrut than parents

Question

We hold by Rabbanut Kashrut, but our two sons in the US hold by Badatz. When they come to visit, are we required to provide Badatz, or should they eat our food out of Kibbud Av v'Eim?

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

The thing to do in this situation is to provide them with food with the hechsher that they prefer. However, their food may be cooked in your pots and utensils when the utensils are "aino ben-yomo" - not used in over 24 hours.

This should satisfy everyone's concerns.
