Planting Chickpeas in the Sixth Year

Question

Until when is it permitted to plant chickpeas before the Sabbatical year?

Answer

All types of grains and legumes, except for rice, millet, poppy, and sesame, may be planted only if they reach one-third of their growth before Rosh Hashanah.
