Q: Is it permitted to press olives in order to make olive oil from them?

It is permitted to squeeze grapes to make wine and grape juice, and it is likewise permitted to squeeze olives to make oil (Terumot 11:3; Rambam, Shemitah 5:3; Terumot 11:2); Zemirah LeShimcha (Shemitah, issue 3).
