Consumption of Laxative Chocolate
Question
Is it permissible for a 5-year-old child to take laxative chocolate as a substitute for laxative pills to prevent constipation? A highly specialized doctor recommended taking it. It has kosher certification, but it is chalav akum?
Answer
If he cannot take the pill, or if the pill is not effective for him, he may take the chocolate.
