Placing Food on a Non-Kosher Hotplate
Question
I am staying at a place that has a public hotplate (a Shabbat hotplate). May I place Shabbat foods on it inside a pan, or is there a concern that the hotplate is non-kosher or that others placed non-kosher foods on it, especially since there are also people there who are not observant?
Answer
Shalom u'vrachah
If you wrap the foods and the pan in aluminum foil, it is permitted.
