Using a Non-Kosher Dishwasher
Question
Does using a dishwasher whose kosher status is unknown (owned by a person who does not observe Shabbat) render the utensils unfit for use, and if so, what should be done when this concerns a person who lives with his parents, who are not concerned about these utensils?

It is forbidden to use a dishwasher that is not separate for meat and dairy, and it is likewise forbidden to use a dishwasher that is used for non-kosher foods.
However, a utensil that was washed in such a dishwasher is not rendered forbidden after the fact.
A person whose parents do not keep kosher should not, ideally, use their utensils, unless they set aside kosher utensils for him that they will not use at all. And he should not wash those utensils in the treif dishwasher.
