Using a Non-Kosher Microwave

Question

Is it permissible for me to heat food in a microwave that is definitely used for non-kosher food?

Answer

Hello,

It is very problematic to use it regularly.

However, if a person finds themselves in a place where there is no other way to heat food, such as a hospital, it is permissible to place the food within two sealed coverings.
