Koshering a Grill Abroad

Hi,
I am abroad in a rented house and there is a grill here. I tried to buy a new grate but couldn't find where to buy it. Is there a way to kosher the existing grate on site?

Hello,
You can heat the grate with fire until it becomes red or white hot.
