Coffee Machine - Immersion of Utensils
Question
A coffee machine that does not have an internal receptacle, but only an external plastic container, and the water is heated inside it by means of a THERMOBLOCK heating system, i.e., by passing through tubes that heat it—does it require immersion of utensils? How is this different from ordinary pipes?
Thank you in advance
Answer
Shalom u’vrachah.
If the tubes that heat the water are made of metal, the machine requires immersion, or its final completion must be done by a Jew.
The pipes in the wall are not considered a utensil, and therefore do not require immersion. However, the tubes within the utensil are part of the utensil and require immersion, and they obligate the rest of the utensil in immersion as well.
