Immersing an Ice Cube Maker

Question

Does an ice cube maker require immersion in a mikveh?

Answer

Shalom u’vracha

The appliance must be immersed.

If the parts that come into contact with the water are removable, only those parts need to be immersed. If they are not removable, the entire appliance must be immersed.

If the appliance may be damaged by immersion in water, a significant part should be disassembled and then reassembled by a Jewish technician.
