Immersion of Oven Racks

Hello.
Is it necessary/important to immerse the oven racks?
We never place anything directly on them, but sometimes we bake on them with baking paper.

Hello,
If you bake on the racks with baking paper, immersion is required.
If you bake only with a tray, immersion is not necessary.
