Time for Separating Challah from 'Kishke'

Question

Kishke for cholent that contains a quantity requiring challah separation, when should it be separated: before or after cooking?

Shalom Rav

If it is a thick dough, separate before cooking. If it is a soft dough before cooking, separate after cooking.
