Challah Separation Before Bat Mitzvah

My daughter is turning 12 on Shabbat, so we are moving the celebration to Thursday. Can she perform challah separation at the event?

It is not appropriate to do so.
According to the Shulchan Aruch, it is only valid post facto, and according to the Gaon, Rabbi Eliyahu, it is not valid at all.
