Fasting on Tisha B'Av for a Cancer Patient Undergoing Biological Treatment
Question
I have metastatic breast cancer, diagnosed a year and a half ago. I’m 36 years old and currently receiving the injection Phesgo (Herceptin and Perjeta — biological treatments). I finished chemotherapy about 9 months ago and generally feel well. Should I fast on Tisha B’Av? Thank you.
Answer
Shalom UvRacha,
Do not fast at all.
In this condition, you are still considered ill and are exempt from fasting.
