Fasting for one suffering from excess fluids in the head

Question

My 12-year-old daughter has an excess of fluids in her head and she takes medication to balance it. The medication causes her constant headaches, and the recommendation for her is to increase her fluid intake. She did not keep any other fasts. The question is regarding Tisha B'Av, if she’ll feel unwell.

Answer

Shalom and may she have a complete recovery!
If there is a medical need to drink, she should drink as usual.
If the drinking is intended only to prevent a headache, she should start fasting, and if a headache arrives at a level that weakens the whole body [not a local pain], she should drink as usual.
