Shabbat Clothes for Bar Mitzvah

Question

We are holding a Bar Mitzvah during the Nine Days. Is it permissible for the Bar Mitzvah boy and family members to wear Shabbat clothes? And is it permissible to wear very festive clothing that was worn at a wedding?

Answer

Only the Bar Mitzvah boy is permitted to wear Shabbat clothes, while the rest of the family should wear weekday clothes.
