He soiled all his shirts — the Nine Days
Question
My son (he will turn 13 next week) has already completely soiled all his shirts to the point that they cannot be worn. He only has a few brand-new shirts left. Is it preferable for him to wear a new shirt, or should I wash a few shirts for him?
Answer
Shalom u’vrachah
Someone who has no clean clothes to wear and has two options before him — to do laundry or to buy new clothes: during the week in which Tisha B’Av falls, it is preferable to buy [and give them to a minor to wear for a few hours].
