An Ashkenazi Participating in Sephardic Selichot

I am a Lithuanian Ashkenazi woman.
This week I am participating in a conference of Lithuanian rabbis, combined with Selichot led by Rabbi Reuven Elbaz,
is there value in my participating?
Is there any problem with participating?
Or should I go outside during the Selichot?

There is no obligation for an Ashkenazi to recite Selichot before the week of Rosh Hashanah, but if it strengthens and inspires one to repent, it is permitted, and there is even benefit and virtue in it.
