Connecting the supports of the sechach with a zip tie
Question
Is it permissible to connect two short boards with a zip tie in order to create one long board, and to place the sechach on it (for a sukkah)?

The Mishnah Berurah permits this, since the sechach itself is not resting on the zip tie itself.
According to the Chazon Ish, it is forbidden, since the sechach would not stand were it not for the zip tie, and if so, it is the “support” of the support of the sechach.
