Wearing Tefillin on Chol Hamoed for a Baal Teshuva
Question
If someone is a Baal Teshuva and does not have a family custom, should he wear Tefillin if he is in Israel or abroad, and what happens if part of the holiday he is in a place where they wear them and part where they do not?

In Israel - the custom is not to wear them.
Abroad - it depends on the custom of the community he joins.
It does not matter in which community he prays, but to which he belongs.
