Need some help, quick

Question

Hey Rabbi. I am currently in a bit of a situation. I am going to record music tonight as I do music as a part of my career. If I go though, it will mean I miss Megila reading tonight. Is there a way around this? Or am I stuck

Answer

Shalom!

Thank you for your question.

One must be sure to hear the Megilla twice on Purim: once at night and again during the day.

The nighttime reading can be done anytime from nightfall until the crack of dawn, although there are restrictions with regard to eating before Megillah reading. The daytime reading can be done be'dieved from the crack of dawn, though Lechatchillah (preferably) only after sunrise, until sunset.

You must find time in your day to fulfill this and the other Purim mitzvot.
