Time for Giving the Half-Shekel
Question
When is it customary to give the half-shekel?
Answer
Some have the custom to give the half-shekel close to the reading of the Megillah. Others give the half-shekel on the Fast of Esther before Mincha. There are also those who give on the Fast of Esther after Mincha, before the reading of the Megillah.
