Buying a Book – Chol HaMoed
Question
Is it permitted to buy a reading book on Chol HaMoed for a woman who will be alone on Simchat Torah and wants to read it?
Answer

It is permitted. This is a purchase for the needs of the festival.
And one must buy it from a place that is open in accordance with halacha, and not in the usual weekday manner.
